Debit Cards

The use of debit cards is growing tremendously in the United States. Many of the cards being issued by the banks today are dual-purpose credit/debit cards.

By having an encrypted pinpad, a merchant who conducts face-to-face business can ask the customer if he would like to pay with debit or credit. By keying their private pin number into the pinpad when prompted the merchant will pay a flat rate per sale, typically around 35 cents, no matter what the amount of the sale. By comparison, using a credit card on a $100.00 sale, the MasterCard or Visa discount rate would cost the merchant approximately $2.00, and an American Express sale approximately $3.25. Accepting debit cards is a real convenience to many customers who cannot get approved for credit cards or prefer not to use their credit card for certain types of purchases. For the merchant it means guaranteed funds and a satisfied customer.

Check Services

Check Guarantee and Check Verification is a great way to stop the problem of bad checks before they start. The system can be accessed directly through your credit card terminal with out having to purchase any additional terminals. However, there are check readers that are available and are compatible with all of our credit card terminals.

Check Guarantee works a lot like credit card processing. You will pay a discount rate just like you pay with credit card processing. As was said before the system will be accessed through your credit card terminal. The customer's drivers license number will be entered followed by the check number. The terminal will then display an authorization number. That check is now guaranteed. If the check turns out to be bad you still receive your money.

Check Verification uses the same system as check guarantee. You will still enter the driver's license number and check number and get an approval code. The differences start in the price you pay for this service. Check verification cost is less per check. This price does not fluctuate depending on the amount of each check. If the terminal gives you an authorization code and the check comes back bad, then you are not guaranteed to get the full amount of the check back. However, it does not end here. The writer of the bad check will now be in the system as a bad check writer. This person will not be able to clear their name until they come back and pay you the full amount for the bad check.
